Jennifer Kidney

Jennifer Kidney was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. She has a B.A. with Highest Honors in English from Oberlin College and a M.Phil. and Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from Yale University. She has been a babysitter, a Sunday school teacher, a cashier and concessionist at a movie theatre, a receptionist, a secretary, a university professor, a technical writer, and the director of nonprofit arts and humanities organizations and projects. She has won awards for her poetry, technical writing, service to libraries, teaching, brownie baking, and birding. She lives in Norman, Oklahoma, with her cats, Marvin Gaye and Priscilla Presley, and her Shetland sheepdog, Barry White. This is the Truth is her ninth book of poetry.
